SHIRT DETAILS
As any Ganton customer can tell you, what sets a quality shirt apart from the rest is more than just fashion, style or design. Whilst all those assets are important, it's a unique quality of workmanship and attention to detail that keeps a Ganton shirt, and it's wearer, looking good for years.
In fact, when you know the lengths we go to, to ensure your Ganton shirt gives you years of satisfaction, it's easy to see why other shirt makers make things easy for themselves.
For instance, we use not one, but two fusings in the collar to prevent buckling and to give an extra flat appearance. We insist on single needle armholes for the best shape and smooth finish. Together with twin needle side and sleeve closing, buttoned sleeve plackets and a minimum of 18 stitches per inch.
Other details are perhaps more easily spotted - especially when you compare a Ganton shirt to an ordinary shirt. Look carefully and you'll see our buttons are cross-stitched for strength. All our seams are topstitched for extra strength and a flatter appearance. And, of course, every Ganton shirt comes with the appropriate spare buttons, just in case.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
A number of our shirts are created from blended cotton/polyester fabrics. These shirts (in particular our 'Gold Label' lines) are always easy care. If washed carefully and placed on a hanger to dry while still slightly damp, they will only need the smallest touch up with a warm iron.
However, regardless of which Ganton shirts you own, the following tips will help you to maintain your shirt at its best.
WASHING
- Always remove the collarbones (if applicable).
- Wash your shirts at 40 degrees.
- You can tumble dry on a low heat - but it's always better to drip dry.
- ALWAYS keep whites completely separate.
- Adding fabric conditioner will help make ironing easier.
